🌼 Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice – Russell House
Russell House, part of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, was built in 2011 to bring children’s hospice care closer to families in Calderdale and Kirklees. The hospice was founded by Linda Senior, whose children, Russell and Tom, grew up in Halifax. At the time, the nearest children’s hospice was Martin House in Boston Spa — far too long a journey for families already facing enormous challenges.
Thanks to Linda’s determination and the incredible support of the local community, Russell House became a reality and was officially opened by HRH Princess Beatrice of York on 21 June 2013. with the plaque of the two sister playing in the garden, Today, it continues to provide vital care, respite, and compassion for children with life‑limiting conditions and their families..
